Gelf's operation is based on the Nokia N810 Internet tablet device to be supplied to golfers for their use during a round. The big touch screen of the device provides rapid and easy access for all golfers. A battery lasting through the round and a handy cart mount ensures that the use of the device will not be a distraction or inconvenience to golfers. Alternatively, thanks to its small size, you may also carry the device easily in your pocket.

Real time on course Situation awareness

Satellite positioning allows real-time monitoring of golfers as well the follow-up of the time spent on a round and the number of strokes played. The follow-up will reveal possible trouble spots and problem situations on a course even before they come into being. The system provides a great help for optimizing the maximum utilization rate of a course, without compromising golfers’ game experience during peak times.

Course events as statistics

A comprehensive amount of data is recorded into the system via the device, e.g. on golfers, rounds played and their average number of strokes, round times and results as well as on the coordinates of the devices. As background information it is possible to enter other golf course related data as well as information pertaining to golfers, such as golfers’ home clubs, age distribution and handicaps into the system.

The combining of background information with the data compiled by the system enables the generation of versatile statistics and reports. It is easy to collect information on golfers visiting the course, to makes sales and marketing efforts more effective, to support the business of the course.

Easy and effective administration system

Golf courses use a software application working on a Web browser that allows the personnel an easy follow-up of events taking place on the course via a course view or statistical data. The personnel’s time can better be utilized for other tasks when less time is needed for observation of the golf course or courses.

Real-time scoreboard

When golfers enter their results into the device, they will automatically be transferred into the central database of the Gelf system. During competition the electronic registration of results taking place in real-time allows the presentation of real-time results of a competition currently in progress on display devices at the club house. In addition to the results, it is possible to display current notices and advertisements on monitors to liven up the club house.
